NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Rob Garrison, the 59-year-old actor best known for playing Tommy in "The Karate Kid" and its sequel, has died.
According to TMZ, Garrison's sister-in-law says he died Friday morning at a hospital in West Virginia. She says his passing wasn't sudden, and had been in the hospital for over a month receiving treatment for kidney and liver issues.
"It is a huge loss to the 'Karate Kid' and 'Cobra Kai' family," Garrison's rep, Rick Henriques, told The Hollywood Reporter. "He was a great guy and a great actor."
Garrison is survived by his brother, Patrick, and Patrick's wife, Linda.
