Manhattan lawyer with coronavirus at center of Westchester cluster in medically-induced coma: report

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Midtown Manhattan lawyer Lawrence Garbuz, 50 -- who lives in Westchester County -- and was one of the first people to test positive for coronavirus in the county -- is in a medically-induced coma, The New York Post reports, citing sources.

In a Facebook post his wife Adina -- who has tested positive for the virus -- posted on Tuesday, she didn't explicitly say her husband was in a coma, but she did make references to him "waking up" and "sleeping."

"I really hope I can be negative and cleared so I can be next to my husband who is left alone without his loved ones by his side," she wrote. "I don't want to think about what it will be like for him waking up alone."

She also wrote, "I want my husband to get better and hope to have to worry about trying to explain to him all that has transpired while he was sleeping."

Her comments come as Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the deployment of the New York National Guard to New Rochelle to enforce a containment area which includes the Garbuz's synagogue.
