NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A Cedarhurst man turned himself into Nassau County police after allegedly attacking his parents in the family's home on Oakland Avenue and then hiding for several hours in the garage of another house where he reportedly started a fire that engulfed that home and damaged another nearby.
Police say Brian Alejo, 21, began his rampage around 1:10 a.m., Saturday after arguing with his parents. He reportedly stabbed his father multiple times and then beat his mother.
Both ended up in the hospital.
Police say no one was injured in the fire Alejo set, but when he came into the Fourth Precinct to turn himself in, he tried to escape and had to be restrained by several officers.
Alejo is now facing charges of attempted murder, assault, arson, weapon possession and attempted escape.
