
NEW YORK (1010 WINS)-- Trainers from Dogs Playing for Life group will teach Hempstead Town Animal Shelter staff and volunteers new socialization techniques for dogs in group settings in order to improve their chances at getting adopted.
The creative program provides socialization and enrichment for shelter dogs in the form of structured playgroups and is aimed at improving the lives of dogs that are usually considered difficult to adopt.
The Town of Hempstead animal shelter is the largest municipal animal shelter on Long Island and is mostly consists of dogs that are hard to adopt such as pitbulls and dogs of unknown origins.
