NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Mother's Day will be just ducky for a family of fowls.
Suffolk County police officers and Babylon Highway Department workers joined forces Friday morning to make six rescues.
The call came in around 7:15 a.m. that a mother duck was standing over a storm drain at South 15th Street and West Hoffman Avenue in Lindenhurst.
It turned out her six ducklings had fallen in.
The grate was removed and Emergency Service Section Officer James Brucculeri climbed down and got the ducklings out.
The ducklings were then reunited with their mother.
