LOS ANGELES (1010 WINS) -- Following the death of Luke Perry Monday at age 52, his current and past co-stars took to social media to express their sadness about the "Beverly Hills, 90210" alum and "Riverdale" actor.
But one voice was initially absent from the mass of celeb messages: His on-screen "90210" girlfriend Shannen Doherty, aka Brenda Walsh.
On Tuesday, though, Doherty took to Instagram.
"Yesterday morning I got a phone call that devastated me," she wrote. "I’m struggling with this loss and am having a hard time with my thoughts. But, my heart goes out to his family and friends who were blessed by his light in their (and mine) lives. Processing this is impossible right now."
Doherty has previously said that she Perry reconnected in recent years, following her breast cancer diagnosis.
