NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A major water main break flooded streets and closed a subway station in upper Manhattan on Friday morning.
The main broke on Broadway between West 111th and West 112th streets in Morningside Heights around 9 a.m. It was still affecting traffic and subway service hours later.
Videos show water pouring into the streets and onto sidewalks, with pools of water pooling and creating a river down Broadway.

The NYPD’s 26th Precinct said Broadway is closed between the two streets and that traffic is being diverted in both directions.
The NYPD said the 110th Street subway station, which serves the 1 line, was also closed because of the break.
The Department of Buildings is responding after buildings on West 110th Street and Broadway reported flooding in their basements, ABC7 reported.
It's the third water main break to flood the Upper West Side–Morningside Heights area in the past month. There was a large break on Jan. 19 and an even bigger one on Jan 13.
