PATERSON, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- A 22-year-old man was fatally shot in New Jersey early morning Sunday, officials said.
At approximately 3:48 a.m., authorities responded to a report of shots fired near 189 Hamilton Avenue in Paterson.
Upon arrival, police discovered 22-year-old Byron Brooks lying of the ground, having suffered several gunshot wounds, the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office said.Brooks was taken to St. Joseph's University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, officials said.
No arrests have been made and an investigation remains ongoing.The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office is asking anyone with information to contact its tips line at 877-370-PCPO.
