Man, 35, dies, another man hurt after jet skis collide on Harlem River

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A jet ski crash on the Harlem River Saturday night left one man dead and another man injured, police said.

The jet skis collided around 7:45 p.m. near W. 203 Street and 9th Avenue in Inwood, according to police.

A 35-year-old man and a 37-year-old man were both removed from the water by bystanders after the crash. Police said the men were unconscious when officers arrived.

Both men were rushed to New York Presbyterian Hospital, where the 35-year-old was pronounced dead. He has not been identified.

The 37-year-old man suffered minor injuries and was expected to survive.

Police said a preliminary investigation found the two men were riding jet skis on the Harlem River when they crashed into each other. They said no criminality was suspected at this time.
