NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Two slashings took place this week involving A trains at opposite ends of Manhattan.
On Tuesday, two male passengers were slashed after asking a 51-year-old man to stop smoking on the subway.
The smoker was riding a southbound A train approaching the Canal St. station just before 2:30 p.m. Tuesday when the 67-year-old and 49-year old victims, approached him and asked him to stop, police said.He then pulled out a box cutter, officials said, slashing the victim, 67, on the right side of his forehead and the 49-year-old on the ankle.
Police took the man into custody shortly after and charges are still pending.
The males fled in unknown direction. The victim sustained lacerations to his face, arms and chest and was transported to St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital in stable condition.
