NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man died after falling a ventilator duct shaft in Lower Manhattan on Friday, officials said.
Responding officers were called to the scene at approximately 2:25 p.m. at 1 Wall Street in the Financial District, police said.
A preliminary investigation from the. Department of buildings determined that a security guard at the site fell from the first floor to the cellar below through a mechanical shaft.
The general contractor for the construction work is JT Magen & Company INC and the DOB's investigation at the scene is ongoing.
