NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man was fatally struck in Queens after he attempted to flee the scene of a crash Wednesday night, officials said.

Around 11:30 p.m., authorities responded to a collision on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway near Broadway and 69 Street in the Woodside area.

Police determined that a 30-year-old man was previously involved in a vehicle collision at the intersection of 69 Street and Broadway.

Officials said after he hit another vehicle, he exited his own vehicle in an attempt to flee the scene.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the man was unconscious and unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Several lanes on the BQE were blocked off as well as a silver car with frontal damage.

Police have not made any arrests.
