NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – An NYPD officer was recovering Sunday after police said he was hit over the head with a bottle while trying to make an arrest in Brooklyn on Saturday night.
The officer was trying to break up a group of men near Sterling Place and Rochester Avenue in the Weeksville section just before 9:30 p.m. when one of the men began arguing with the officer, police said.
Citizen App video shows police at the intersection shortly after the attack.

The officer was taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition and eventually released. Police said he was conscious and alert.
Police were still searching for the suspect on Sunday.
