NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 21-year-old man jumped 16 floors to his death from a trendy Midtown rooftop bar Tuesday night, police said.
Officials say the victim jumped from Henry’s Rooftop Bar above the The Roger Smith Hotel at Lexington Avenue and East 48th Street around 9:30 p.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Patrons were shocked after witnessing the jump.
“We were all sitting at the rooftop bar and he just ran and he jumped,” Talita, a 48-year-old woman who was on a date at the time told the New York Post.
Authorities have not released the victim's identity.
