NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man who allegedly dragged a woman into a Queens alleyway and raped her last year has been arrested, the NYPD said.
Rony Lopez Alvarez, 38, of Clayton County, Georgia, was arrested and charged with rape, robbery criminal sexual act, kidnapping and sex abuse last week, police said Friday.
Police say a 27-year-old woman was walking along Jamaica Avenue in Jamaica around 4 a.m. on Jan. 18, 2020 when Lopez Alvarez, who was walking in front of her, stopped near the intersection of Guy R. Brewer Boulevard.
The woman attempted to pass by Lopez Alvarez, but he grabbed her and dragged her into a nearby alley, where he raped her, police said.

The victim was taken to NYC Health and Hospital/Queens, the NYPD said. Police said she had numerous injuries, including to her head, body, arms and legs.
Lopez Alvarez' attorney information wasn't immediately available Friday.
