NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An attacker sexually assaulted at least two women at the same Manhattan subway station this past month, the NYPD said Tuesday.
A 34-year-old woman and a 46-year-old woman were standing near the turnstiles at the 57th Street subway station in Midtown around 10:20 p.m. on the Fourth of July when the man dragged the 34-year-old woman to the ground by her purse and grabbed her breasts, police said.
The man was exposing himself when he attacked the woman, the NYPD said.
The 46-year-old woman tried to pull the 34-year-old woman away from the man, at which point he grabbed the 46-year-old's purse too, police said. He fled the scene when she screamed, running west on 55th Street, the NYPD said.
Less than two weeks later, around 11 a.m. on July 12, the same man started talking to a 37-year-old woman as she walked up the stairs leading out of the 57th Street subway station, police said.
When the woman ignored the man, he grabbed her buttocks, dragged her to the ground by her hair, exposed himself and demanded she perform a sex act, the NYPD said. The man fled south on Seventh Avenue when the woman screamed for help, police said.
Anyone with information about the man's whereabouts is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
