Man shot in Hell’s Kitchen dies trying to drive himself to hospital, teen arrested

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police arrest a teen in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred early Thursday in Hell’s Kitchen.

Authorities cuffed a 17-year-old boy and charged him with murder criminal possession of a firearm.

Officials say a dispute began at approximately 1:30 a.m., inside a bodega at 51st Street and 10th Avenue.

The argument continued outside of the bodega where a man that was shot in the back.

The victim hopped into his black SUV, trying to to drive himself to the hospital, but crashed into an auto dealership on 10th Avenue.

The report adds that the vehicle had official New York license plates but is not an official state vehicle, and the victim was not a state employee.
