NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a man they said struck a woman with a cane in an unprovoked attack in the Bronx over the weekend.
At approximately 11:45 p.m. on July 4, officials said a 53-year old woman was walking into the 149 Street Station subway stop when the suspect began striking her with a cane.
The suspect then exited the station and fled on foot to parts unknown.
The victim suffered pain and bruising to the head and torso.
EMS transported the victim to NYC Health & Hospitals/Lincoln, in stable condition.
Police describe the suspect as a male with a dark complexion, approximately 30-40 years of age.
He was last seen wearing all dark clothing.
