Man, 29, stabs father, brother, kills girlfriend, 29, inside Bronx apartment

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 29-year-old man attacked his family with a knife, before killing his girlfriend Sunday night in the Bronx, officials say.

Police say the attacker first stabbed his father and brother in an apartment on Gleason Avenue in the Unionport section. They both suffered injuries that were non life-threatening.

He then headed to his 29-year-old girlfriend's home about a block away on Ellis Avenue, where authorities say she was repeatedly stabbed.

Just before 7:40 p.m., police responded to a call of an assault in progress where they discovered the girlfriend badly wounded in a third-floor hallway.

EMS rushed her to Jacobi Hospital, where she was pronounced dead .

Officials have not released her name. Authorities tracked down the attacker on Wood Road, near Wood Avenue in the Parkchester section and took him into custody.

According to officials, he was also injured and was hospitalized.The attacker's name has not been released, and as of Sunday night, charges against him were pending.
