NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Bottom line? It's sunny and warm this Memorial Day weekend, with a brief period of stormy weather.

It was partly sunny on Saturday with a high of 72 in midtown. It was a tad warmer in New Jersey, while it was in the 60s on Long Island.

The comfortable weather made the perfect backdrop for the annual air show at Jones Beach, seen by some residents as an unofficial harbinger of summer.

Saturday night will be partly to mostly cloudy with a shower or thunderstorm well after dark. The low will be 62.

Sunday will be much warmer and more humid with intervals of clouds and sunshine. The high in the city will be 86, and mid to upper 70s at most beaches.

There will be a shower or thunderstorm in places late Sunday afternoon and Sunday night. Low of 66.

On Monday, Memorial Day, there will be a mix of sun and clouds, but breezy and less humid. High of 82.

Happy Memorial Day!
