NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A newsstand vendor was stabbed by two men who robbed him of more than $1,000 in cash, police said.
The vendor was working at his stand near West 60th Street and Broadway on the Upper West Side on Thursday night when he was attacked by the two men.
Police said one of the suspects stood in front of the newsstand as the second suspect pulled out a knife and stood at the newsstand's entrance.
A struggle between the two men and the vendor ensued and one of the men stabbed the vendor in his left shoulder, police said.
The two robbers then stole $1,440 in cash and ran into the subway station at Columbus Avenue and West 59th Street.
The vendor was taken to Mount Sinai St. Luke's Hospital, where he was treated and released.
Police released a surveillance image of the suspects on Saturday. They believe they are both in their late teens or early 20s.
