NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Mets fans are apoplectic at the prospect of Tom Brady registering a trademark on the term "Tom Terffic," which to fans of the orange-and-blue will always and forever only refer to one man, Hall of Famer Tom Seaver.
Fans will be rallying Tuesday at an Upper East Side restaurant to show how offensive and insensitive for Brady to claim ownership over the moniker which has adorned the best player in Mets history for decades.
Art Shamsky, a fellow member of the 1969 Miracle Mets and a friend of Seaver's, plans to attend the rally, which will take place at the Sojourn restaurant at 5 p.m.
Patrons will throw Brady jerseys and gear into the garbage in protest.
