NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The mother of two toddlers who died in their Bronx home in 2017 was arrested and charged with manslaughter Thursday in New Jersey.
Jade Spencer, 33, was living in Bloomfield.
It is as of yet unclear why police decided to charge her now.
The medical examiner had ruled the deaths of both Olivia Gee, 2, and Micah Gee, 3, as homicides.
An NYPD official said the two bled to death from internal injuries after receiving what appeared to be a beating on July 9, 2017.
Spencer and her boyfriend put the toddlers to bed at about 8:30 p.m. in their Van Cortlandt Park South home.
She called 911 about five hours later after the boyfriend looked in on the children and found them unconscious.
Spencer had to be hospitalized after their deaths for psychiatric evaluation.
