NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 23-year-old motorcycle passenger died after the vehicle's driver ran a red light and hit a car in the Bronx on Sunday night, police said.

A 20-year-old man was driving the motorcycle south on Grand Concourse, at 181st Street in the Fordham Heights section of the Bronx, around 8:15 p.m. on Sunday when he ran through a red light and hit an Acura traveling west on 181st Street, a preliminary NYPD investigation found.

The 20-year-old driver was taken to a nearby hospital after the crash, where he was treated for minor injuries, police said. His 23-year-old male passenger was pronounced dead at the same hospital, according to police.

Police didn't immediately release the 23-year-old man's name.

The Acura driver and one of his passengers were both hospitalized for minor injuries after the crash, the NYPD said. Both were in stable condition, police said.

An investigation is ongoing.
