NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- There's two movies opening this week you should see, albeit they're at different ends of the thematic spectrum: The animated film "Playmobil: The Movie" and the thriller "Grand Isle."
"Playmobil: The Movie," based on the German building toy Playmobil, stars the voices of Daniel Radcliffe, Keenan Thompson, Adam Lambert and Meghan Trainor. The plot revolves around a young woman who enters who a magical world in search of her brother.
If that doesn't sound like your cup of tea, check out "Grand Isle," starring Nicolas Cage and Kelsey Grammer.
The film is about a trigger-happy ex-marine, played by Cage, and his seductive wife who lure a young man into their creepy Victorian home to escape a hurricane. But when the man is charged with murder by a police detective, played by Grammer, he is forced to prove his innocence by recalling his twisted and dark night at the couple’s home.
So, yes, these films will likely appeal to different audiences.
