MTA employee attacked at Hamilton Heights train station

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- NYPD are searching for a man they said attacked a 59-year-old MTA employee inside of the 145th Street 2/3 subway station on Saturday.

Police say at approximately 3:30 a.m. the suspect shouted at a group of on-duty MTA employees and proceeded to punch the victim in the face during an unprovoked attack.

The victim was taken to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital where he was treated for a laceration to the face.  

A video released by the NYPD shows the suspect walk through the turnstile, under the red tape across it and then flee the station into the street area.The attacker is described as Hispanic, in his 40s and bald with a goatee, wearing a red-and-black track suit and red-and-black sneakers.Police ask anyone with information about the incident to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
