NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The body found in a Southern California is indeed "Glee" star Naya Rivera, Ventura County Sheriff Bill Ayub told reporters Monday afternoon.
"We are confident the body we found is that of Naya Rivera," he said, explaining that the clothes on the body, as well as other indicators led to the investigators' conclusion.
"We believe she was concealed by shrubbery on the bottom of the lake," he said, adding that investigators did not suspect foul play.
The Ventura County Sheriff's Office had announced on Monday morning that a body has been found in the lake where Rivera went missing June 8, after going swimming with her 4-year-old son, Josey.
While the Sheriff's Office did not identify the body at the time, TMZ reported it was Rivera. 1010 WINS has sought comment from Rivera's rep.
"Happening now: A body has been found at Lake Piru this morning. The recovery is in progress," read the tweet, posted at 9:38 a.m. local time.
Rivera, 33, took a photo of her son in front of a cove, a Sheriff's official told Us Weekly, so that helped finetune the search.
"There was a picture sent to a family member that showed the boy on the boat by a cove," the official said. "We found where that cove was."
Officials had previously said they believed Rivera had drowned.
Her son was found on the boat sleeping and wearing a life vest. He told officials his mom never came back on the boat after swimming.
