NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The American Museum of Natural History will debut a new exhibition that explores their latest research and discoveries about the Tyrannosaurs rex. The newest exhibit is called T. rex: The Ultimate Predator and it highlights the evolution of the dinosaur.
The museum hopes to showcase a side of T. rex people never knew by providing an exhilarating experience through fossils, life-size models, engaging interactive and virtual reality experiences.
Curator Mark Norell explains that although it was once the size of a chicken, this dinosaur became a notorious predator in a short time span due to its powerful teeth. "They have these really deeply rooted very stout teeth so they were able to bite into things which such force that it wasn't like a lion or leopard. They would actually cause the thing to explode because they were able to bite so hard and their teeth could go through bone. They could bite anything."

The T. rex: The Ultimate Predator exhibit will be open to the public starting March 11.
