NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- There have been 88 new cases of coronavirus in Connecticut since Sunday, bringing the total number of cases statewide to 415, Gov. Ned Lamont said Monday.

Ten people in total have died from coronavirus-related issues, Lamont said.

Two of the new deaths include a man in his 50s who lived in a private residence in Norwalk and was recently hospitalized at Norwalk Hospital, and a man in his 70s who lived in a private residence in Newington and was hospitalized at St. Francis Hospital, Lamont said.

On Friday, Lamont on Friday signed an executive order that requires all "non-essential" businesses and nonprofit organizations, to shut down or have workers their employees to work from home, through April 22. The restrictions, part of the governor's "Stay Home, Stay Safe" message to residents, will take effect at 8 p.m. on Monday.
