NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The 49th annual TCS New York City Marathon is Nov. 3.

More than 50,000 runners from all over the world are expected at Sunday's race, which officials say draws more than 2 million spectators to the 26.2 mile, five-borough route.

The race kicks off at 8:30 a.m. With such a huge turnout, New Yorkers can expect several street closures.

Security will also be very tight this weekend. About 1,000 uniformed NYPD and plain-clothed officers will be stationed across the city. There will also be about 500 blocker cars and 100 sand cars stationed to keep vehicular traffic away from runners and spectators.

Highly-trained K-9 units in bomb detection will also be present.
