NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Has the search for the next Mets manager come to an end?

According to reports, Carlos Beltran will be named as managerof the Amazins.

Beltran's been considered a favorite to succeed Mickey Callaway following the latter's firing in October. He'd showed interest in the position, turning down opportunities elsewhere to re-join the organization.

Beltran, 42, played 20 seasons in the majors from 1998-2017 for the Royals, Mets, Yankees, Astros, Cardinals, Giants and Rangers. The former outfielder was a nine-time All-Star, three-time Gold Glove winner, American League Rookie of the Year and World Series champion with Houston in 2017.

This is a developing story. We will provide updates as they become available.
