JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- A father was able to escape a three-alarm fire in his Jersey City home by climbing out a second floor window with his three young daughters Friday morning. The fire started in the rear section of the four family house on Gates Avenue just after 10:30 a.m.

— Steven Fulop (@StevenFulop) April 12, 2019 Neighbors were able to help them down. Firefighters quickly responded and were able to put out the flames but have previously been to that building.

"We were here for a fire in December and they corrected the issues," Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop said. The cause of the flames are under investigation.
