NEWARK, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- Gov. Phil Murphy announced Wednesday that several indoor facilities such as museums, aquariums, and libraries in New Jersey will reopen next week.
Starting July 2, indoor recreation facilities can reopen at 25 percent capacity, Murphy said.
Recreation facilities include indoor bowling alleys, shooting ranges, batting cages, as well as boardwalk arcades.
Indoor venues, including movie theaters, concert venues, and nightclubs remain closed.
Gyms and fitness centers will also remain closed Murphy said. Individualized training sessions will be allowed by appointment only.
Social distancing, face coverings, and heightened standards of sanitation at indoor facilities are mandatory, the governor said.
People must keep their mouths and noses covered while indoors unless they are eating or drinking.
"Wearing a mask at indoor activities is required. This is not a polite suggestion. It is a requirement," Murphy said.
Murphy also announced that the NJ Transit and light rail service will return to its full weekday schedule on July 6.
Earlier, Gov. Murphy also joined New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont to announce that people traveling from states that have a high COVID-19 infection rate must quarantine for 14 days.
