POINT PLEASANT, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- Marchers in New Jersey took part in a protest called "The Freedom March" on Monday amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Approximately 200 people attended the march that took place at Point Pleasant Beach, where the boardwalk remains closed.
The protestors demanded that nonessential businesses be allowed to reopen.
Lawmakers from both parties were in attendance including Republican Senator Joe Pennacchio, who said freedoms are being denied under the guise of public health were also in attendance.

Jersey Shore beaches opened at 50 percent capacity.
Other businesses might be allowed to reopen in a matter of weeks with restrictions, according to Murphy."We respect everyone's rights to assemble and peacefully protest," Point Pleasant Beach Police Chief Joseph Michigan wrote on Facebook. "However, in an abundance of caution, visitors should expect to see a very high visible law enforcement presence."The majority of protestors appeared to be Trump supporters and were not seen adhering to social distance guidelines or wearing masks.
