NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The North Shore Animal League is marking a milestone and they're inviting animal lovers to help them continue their mission of saving lives.

No-Kill Giving Day: Here's how you can help!

The league is holding a fundraiser, dubbed 'No-Kill Giving Day', with a goal of raising $500,000. The Rachel Ray Foundation has already stepped up with a $250,000 gift to lead the way, and bring the league halfway towards meeting its goal.

But you don't have to be a celebrity chef to be a hero to homeless animals.
