NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The North Shore Animal League is marking a milestone and they're inviting animal lovers to help them continue their mission of saving lives.
No-Kill Giving Day: Here's how you can help!
The league is holding a fundraiser, dubbed 'No-Kill Giving Day', with a goal of raising $500,000. The Rachel Ray Foundation has already stepped up with a $250,000 gift to lead the way, and bring the league halfway towards meeting its goal.
But you don't have to be a celebrity chef to be a hero to homeless animals.

They brought some super cute puppies to 1010 WINS to spread the word about their efforts to rescue abandoned pets, save puppy mill dogs, heal sick and injured animals, and care for them while they wait for adoption, and you can check them out on our Instagram page.
The fundraiser is a 24 hour event, and you can donate at the Animal League's website.
