NJ, CT join NY in adding 10 states to quarantine list, for total of 31, including Maryland, Virginia

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- New Jersey and Connecticut followed New York's lead on Tuesday and announced that 10 additional states were being added to their quarantine list, while Minnesota was being dropped off their lists, for a total of 31 states.

The new states are: Alaska, Delaware (which was previously removed from the list), Indiana, Maryland, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, Virginia, and Washington.


The quarantine applies to any person arriving from a state with a positive test rate higher than 10 per 100,000 residents over a 7-day rolling average or a state with a 10% or higher positivity rate over a 7-day rolling average.

The existing states on the list are:

Alabama

Arkansas

Arizona

California

Florida

Georgia

Iowa

Idaho

Kansas

Louisiana

Minnesota

Mississippi

North Carolina

New Mexico

Nevada

Ohio

Oklahoma

South Carolina

Tennessee

Texas

Utah

Wisconsin

Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Tuesday also announced that 66,169 tests were performed on Monday, 855 of which came back positive (1.29% of total).

Total hospitalizations are at 724. There were 2 COVID-19 fatalities Monday.
