NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- New York state reported three new COVID-19 deaths and 754 new cases on Monday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Tuesday.
The three people who died passed away in Erie County, Brooklyn and Manhattan, bringing the state's death toll to 25,432, Cuomo said in a release.
Of the 83,997 COVID-19 test results that came back on Monday, 754, or 0.89 percent, were positive, he said. New York City reported 351 of the new cases; Suffolk County reported 67; Nassau County reported 66; Rockland County reported 58; Erie County reported 40; and Westchester County reported 29. Thirty-three other counties also reported new cases.
As of Monday, 470 people in the state were hospitalized with COVID-19, 133 of whom were in intensive care and 67 of whom were on ventilators, Cuomo said.
The governor on Tuesday also added five states to the list of COVID-19 hotspots from which returning travelers must quarantine for 14 days: Arizona, Minnesota, Nevada, Rhode Island and Wyoming.
"For a clear example of the continuing extent of the COVID crisis in America, look no further than New York's travel advisory list," Cuomo said in a statement. "The virus' spread across the country — new cases have increased more than 15 percent in the last 10 days — makes it all the more urgent that we stay vigilant here at home."
