NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD says something has to be done about sex offenders on the subway.
Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea says a ban on sex offenders may be necessary.
Shea said repeat offenders are doing a lot of damage.
Chief Ed Dellatore says New York would not be the first city to ban sex offenders from public transportation.
"Denver does it, LA does is, Seattle does it, many cities," he said.
Cops say the ban could involve legislation or requirements in plea deals, but more conversation with stake holders is needed.
