NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police released surveillance video on Monday of a man accused of flashing a gun then robbing his date in Midtown on Valentine's Day.
The suspect met the 27-year-old woman online and was with him around 11 p.m. inside her apartment on West 47 Street near Eighth Avenue, authorities say.
A verbal dispute with the man ensued when she refused his sexual advances. The argument escalated into a physical confrontation inside the victim's apartment, according
to officials.
The suspect flashed his gun, the Daily News reports, then took the victim's purse containing a cellphone, cash and identification with an estimated value of $8,000 police say.
The man is seen on video as he is exiting the Manhattan building. Police say he fled on foot southbound on Eighth Avenue.
Authorities describe the suspect as a white man between 30 and 40-years-old with brown hair and a receding hairline.
He was last seen wearing dark clothing and carrying a cane and a white bag from Citarella Gourmet Market.
No injuries to the victim were reported.
