Olympian Usain Bolt launches eco-friendly scooter, calls for legalization in NY

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Olympic gold medal winner Usain Bolt announced the launch of a new environmentally-friendly scooter at City Hall steps in Manhattan. 

Bolt, the spokesperson for Bolt Mobility was joined by New York business leaders, and Bolt Mobility executives on Tuesday afternoon, calling for legislators in Albany to legalize electric scooters in New York.

"It's an honor to be here to be able to launch this wonderful product to help New York to get around quicker. For me, I'm an Olympian and I know about getting around quickly and me getting around quickly. It's what I do throughout my life." Bolt said. 

Bolt said that the scooters would give riders access to a safe, equitable, and eco-friendly transportation alternative.
