NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Mayor Bill de Blasio has his work cut out for him if he wants to snag the Democratic presidential nomination, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday.
Only 8 percent of those surveyed reported a favorable opinion of de Blasio. A a whopping 45 percent reported an unfavorable rating, the highest figure of any Democrat seeking the 2020 nomination.
Aside from any opinion voters may have of de Blasio, they first need to know who he is: About 48 percent of respondents haven't heard enough about him to make a decision, and none said he would be their choice for the Democratic ticket.
The Quinnipiac survey is the first conducted since he announced his candidacy, joining 22 other White House hopefuls.
The # 1 pick? Not surprisingly, former vice president Joe Biden, who is the top pick for the Democratic party nomination among 35 percent of Democrats.
