NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg and his husband Chasten Buttigieg are taking a huge bite out of the Big Apple.

Coming up, Chasten will speak at New York University next Thursday, at an event organized by the NYU College Democrats.

Last Thursday, Pete -- the mayor of South Bend, Indiana -- appeared at a major New York fundraiser, hosted by Broadway executive Jordan Roth and his husband Richie Jackson. The suggested contribution for the sold-out event ranged from $250 to $2,800.

A source told The New York Post ahead of the fundraiser, “The event sold out very quickly. With each speech and each article [on Buttigieg>, more people were calling to get in. They’re now having to take furniture out of their living room, as it’s grown to triple the capacity they were first aiming for."

And earlier in the week, Pete appeared at a packed funraising event at Brooklyn Bowl in Williamsburg, where he spoke for about 40 minutes.

Pete has also been making the late-night talk show rounds in New York, appearing on "The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon," for example.

Fundraisers aside, Chasten was spotted at the Broadway opening of "Hadestown" last Wednesday, along with other VIPs, including Josh Groban.

"I was over the moon excited to take a break from campaigning to attend opening night of @hadestown on Broadway," Chasten tweeted. "It is a spectacular show with an extremely talented cast and crew! (You can also find red carpet pictures by searching for @joshgroban. I’m not joking. #thirdwheel)."

But Chasten doesn't think New York City is all that rosy, especially when it comes to public enemy #1: LaGuardia Airport.

"friends: omg your campaign life must be so glamorous how exciting." he tweeted Tuesday. "me: no, yeah, the pretzel dog or $7 LGA airport chili served in a coffee cup is the height of luxury."
