NEW YORK (1010 WINS) They lost the fight in court and now the Pets4Luv Foundation needs help from the public to find homes for dozens of animals before they're evicted from their current shelter space at the Mall at the Source in Westbury, Long Island.

The shelter is working with several different realtors to secure a new location, but Bernacchi says they've been unable to find a rental property for less than $5000 per month which, since they rely on donations, they cannot afford. The long term goal, says Bernacchi, is to bring in enough through fundraising efforts to purchase a building so they never have to worry about eviction again.

Pets4Luv marked its tenth anniversary in 2018, and is known for taking in disabled, injuried and special needs pets. They also partner with nearly a dozen local organizations that work with special needs humans who volunteer at the shelter as part of an enrichment program for both the people and the pets.

For now, Pets4Luv is still at the mall at 1504 Old Country Road. You can get more info on their Facebook page, website or by calling them at 516-832-8200.
