LONDON (1010 WINS) -- Four teenagers have been in arrested in London in connection with the brutal homophobic attack on a lesbian couple on a London bus late last month.

The savage attack -- which happened around 2:30 a.m. on May 30 -- has received worldwide attention after one of the women, Melania Geymonata, posted a photo to Facebook of the aftermath of the attack: She and her partner Chris sitting on the bus, covered in blood.

Both women were taken to hospital for treatment of facial injuries and eventually discharged.

Geymonata wrote in the Facebook post that at least four males began harassing the couple when they saw them kissing.

The attackers insisted they kiss "so they could enjoy watching."

The teens also started "describing sexual positions" and tossed coins at the women, Geymonat wrote.

"In an attempt to calm things down, I started making jokes. I thought this might make them go away. Chris even pretended she was sick, but they kept on harassing us, throwing us coins and becoming more enthusiastic about it," she wrote.

Geymonat said the next thing she knew she was fighting with the attackers.

"On an impulse, I went over there only to find her face bleeding and three of them beating her up. The next thing I know is I'm being punched," she wrote, saying that she was "bleeding all over."

On Friday, London's Metropolitan Police said that four males, betweem 15 and 18, had been arrested on suspicion of robbery and aggravated GBH (hate crime). They were taken to separate London police stations for questioning.

Detective Superintendent Andy Cox said, "This was a disgusting attack on two women who appear to have been picked out and targeted by a group of youths. The suspects have made a number of homophobic comments towards the couple before throwing coins at them. When the women tried to reason with the group, the attack escalated to an assault."
