NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A judge in Manhattan on Monday afternoon sentenced pipe bomber Cesar Sayoc to 20 years in prison, to be followed by five years of supervised release.
Judge Rakoff said that he believes Sayoc "was fully capable of concocting pipe bombs capable of exploding," and since he didn't, Rakoff believes that was "in the court's view, a conscious choice."
Prior to the sentencing, Sayoc told the court, "I am beyond so very sorry for what I did. I am forever thankful to my superwoman mother." Sayoc then listed other family members, adding, "I am so very sorry for what I did and what I put you through."
