NEW YORK (1010 WINS) Police arrested a suspect who they say mailed hoax anthrax letters to courts and federal offices in New York and Connecticut.

Jason Pantone, 34, of Hyde Park in Duchess County, was charged with conveying false information and hoax, authorities report.

According to authorities, Pantone mailed envelopes containing white powder along with a note that said "anthrax" to over a dozen locations beginning in February.

Among these locations were Social Security Administration offices and U.S. District Court offices in Albany and Syracuse.

So far testing of the powder has not found any hazardous material, authorities say.

The suspect could face up to five years in prison.
