
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the drowning death of a woman on Long Island on Monday.
At approximately 1:50 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call of someone floating in the water at the Great South Bay in Lindenhurst.
Vita LaValle, 58, was found unresponsive and pulled from the water by a Good Samaritan on a boat, officials said.LaValle was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
No criminality is suspected, police said.Detectives are asking anyone with information on this incident to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392.
