Police: Man threatened to 'exterminate' teen suspect in killing of Tessa Majors

MYSTIC, Conn. (1010 WINS) – A Connecticut man has been charged with threatening to kill the teen boy wanted in the stabbing death of Barnard College freshman Tessa Majors earlier this month.

Trevor Spring, a 31-year-old from Mystic, allegedly posted the racist threat to Reddit on Thursday, according to multiple reports.

"I do believe that's black kids murdered her though," Spring wrote, according to a police report. "That's the real story. Why don't you pay attention to that. A black kid 13/14 year old stabbed a white gurl to death for nothing."

"Time to exterminate the real problem," he also allegedly wrote. "I'm going to search for him myself tonight. Armed and read to fire. Then the parents are next."

Although the post was removed by Reddit moderators, it was seen by the NYPD's Racially and Ethnically Motivated Extremism Unit, which forwarded it to Connecticut State Police.

Spring reportedly told police that he made the post out of anger over Majors' killing and that he didn't intend to carry out the threat. Police don't believe he had access to weapons.

He was released on $5,000 bond after being charged with second-degree threatening, a misdemeanor. He faces up to a year behind bars if convicted.

Police believe Majors was killed by three teen boys as she walked through Morningside Park on Dec. 11. A 13-year-old boy was arrested in the killing, but police don't believe he's the one who stabbed Majors.

The NYPD is still searching for a 14-year-old boy who they believe may have killed Majors with a knife. They released photos of him on Friday.

Majors was remembered at a memorial in her hometown in Virginia on Saturday.
