NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A Utah woman admitted to poisoning her boyfriend with Drano so he’d go into an “eternal sleep,” police say.
Elle Weissman, 43, allegedly tricked her 50-year-old boyfriend into drinking the toxic drain cleaner on Monday by telling him it was medicine.
After poisoning him, Weissman took him to an urgent care center in Salt Lake City and told staff at the hospital that she’d "given her live-in boyfriend Drano so he would go into eternal sleep," according to police.
Hospital staff called police and Weissman was arrested. She faces an attempted murder charge, as well as a charge of surreptitious administering of a certain substance.
She was being held on $100,000 bond.
TV news station KAKE reports that her boyfriend was still hospitalized Friday.
