NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Thousands of demonstrators gathered across New York City on Friday for another day of protests over the death of George Floyd.
Despite the rain, protestors converged to peacefully march in honor of Floyd, who died while at the hands of Minneapolis police.
At least 40 people were arrested in Friday night's protests—far less than the over 200 arrested the night before.
During the march, demonstrators shouted the name "Breonna Tayor" and began to sing "Happy Birthday" on what would've been her 27th birthday. Taylor was fatally shot by police in Louisiana on March 13.
Protestors continued to march well past the 8 p.m. curfew. Earlier, Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance, Jr. announced that his office will not prosecute protesters arrested in Manhattan on charges of Unlawful Assembly and Disorderly Conduct "in the interest of justice."
